Post subject: | TV-out pvr-350 |
To avoid all other problems, I just installed mythtv again, but there's still no picture on the TV-out from my pvr-350. At my LCD monitor, I can choose "Watch TV" and get some static, so something is kind of working... After installation, I ran SnapperDragon's script to get tv-out to work. I changed the frequencies to PAL and changed the tuner in /etc/mythtv/modules/ivtv, but haven't done anything else with the ivtv-fb modules or XF86Config-1. In the XFree86.1.log there is an error I think is the problem, but this is as far as I've come Code: (II) Module shadow: vendor="The XFree86 Project" compiled for 4.3.0.1, module version = 1.0.0 ABI class: XFree86 ANSI C Emulation, version 0.2 (--) Depth 24 pixmap format is 32 bpp bitsPerPixel=32, depth=24, defaultVisual=TrueColor mask: ff0000,ff00,ff, offset: 16,8,0 (EE) IVTVDEV(0): FBIOPAN_DISPLAY: Invalid argument (==) IVTVDEV(0): Backing store disabled There's also some strange output in dmesg Code: ivtv: ENC IRQ OVERFLOW: #16 Stealing a Buffer, 1024 currently allocated
I've placed my XF86Config-4, XFree.1.log and some other stuff out here, hopefully it will make more sense to you guys than it does to me... I was hoping to get this up this weekend, before my girlfriend comes home, so any help is really appreciated ![]() |

(I should read posts more carefully) ![]() I've been spreading the word on a script I've put together to help you out with this task. See if this helps you. Please read the first post completely as I don't want you to get to where you may have to rebuild. It seems to be fairly usuable at the moment, so you should have good luck getting it to work. It only supports NTSC at the moment, so hopefully this is what you need. http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic. ... highlight= |

I have tried your script already, the problem seems to lie elsewhere ![]() Anyone else that have seen the "FBIOPAN_DISPLAY: Invalid argument " error before? |

I wonder what this could mean in your dmesg output: ivtv: Setting Tuner 38 tuner: type already set to 2, ignoring request for 38 |

Is your problem related to this one: http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=4042 There is a glitch and others are having similar issues: http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic. ... 56&start=0 I recall reading something about this in version .17 of mythtv and some workarounds. I can't seem to find the link to this anymore. If I do, I'll try to add the link. |

TV Out isn't a KnoppMyth -> Installation issue. |

ivtv: Setting Tuner 38 tuner: type already set to 2, ignoring request for 38 IIRC, the default ivtv config file delivered with R5A12 explicitly sets the tuner to 2. It needs to be changed to either explicitly set the tuner to the correct tuner type or to -1 for autoconfig (though this second trick might only work for more recent ivtv builds). -brendan |

Cesman: Sorry for posting in the wrong forum, I see now that the hardware forum would have been more appropriate. A cold boot did the trick for the problem with the tuner, the dmesg shows the tuner is set to 38. SnapperDragon: The problem with "ENC IRQ OVERFLOW" went away after the cold boot, but still no TV-out. |

Before you tried tvout via the pvr, did you get it on the computer monitor? |
