My machine locks up at this point "Probing SCSI... aic7xxx.o". This problem has occurred with other distributions of linux as well. Is there a way that I can skip the Probing for SCSI devices when starting from the CD. |

Bah I stopped being lazy and pressed F2 and saw the option for starting without SCSI. For anyone that is interested, at the splash screen type: knoppmyth noscsi |

same problem here, only the noscsi option didn't do the trick. i've got an adaptec something or other aic7xxx is the right kernel module for it. it hangs looking for a disc in the SCSI cdrom, even though i booted from an IDE cdrom. hard drive is IDE also. anybody got a clue? it works fine if i pull the SCSI card out. dan |
