| Post subject: | DVD / VCDs won't play |
Hi, I recently installed r4 with no troubles. post install, I can't seem to get dvds or vcds to play. I only have a dvd-rom in the computer, and I've even tried installing and using ogle as the player. When looking in the dvd settings I realized that the vcd settings were using /mnt/cdrom as the device and the dvd settings were using /mnt/dvd. Shouldn't they be the same because I only have a single drive??? I know the drive is recognized by myth because I can play Mpeg-4 and music cds without troubles. All that happens when I select play dvd or vcd is it will quickly (very quickly) flashs as though it is going to play, then quits back to the dvd menu...any suggestions? Thanks, Justin |

The dvd-rom drive is symlinked to the cd-rom drive. KnoppMyth will not play encrypted DVDs. Try a different VCD, does it work? I've seen MPlayer have issue w/ some VCDs and not others. |

I figured it out....for whatever reason the settings were looking for /mnt/dvd and /mnt/cdrom instead of /dev...Once I changed that it worked like a charm. Thanks for the quick reply. Keep up the good work! Thanks again, Justin |
