Hello,

I've got a KnoppMyth install working great on my home theatre computer, both frontend and backed.

Now, I'm trying to get another machine on my network to work as a frontend. Here is the error:

Unable to connect to database!
Driver error was [1/1045]:
QMYSQL3: Unable to connect
Database error was:
Access denied for user: 'mythtv@192.168.123.195' (Using password: YES)

The password in the mysql.txt file is the same on both machines. MySQL is set to accept network connections on my local subnet.

Any help would be appreciated.

Another question... I am running .12 on the Knoppmyth PC, and the .13 debs on the remote frontend. Is this possible, or do I need to get the .12 package?

Thanks!

The password for remote access to mysql is mythtv. Just change it and you should be ok. I take it you followed the directions for the frontend?

Well, the mysql.txt files are identical between the 2 machines, except for the DB hostname. The password is shown as q2dUSRDq.

Perhaps I wasn't clear...change the password to mythtv on the remote machine.

Ohhh... yah, that was clear. It's connecting now, thanks!

Any idea if using a .13 frontend against a .12 backend will pose a problem?
