Um... i tried to install KnoppMyth and it doesn't seem to have worked. From what i can tell there is no boot sector or a corrupt one. I just did the auto install... the HDD i installed it to was wiped clean so that nothing could mess knoppmyth up.. but no luck.

All i get is a blank black screen with a cursor at the very top right.
hitting keys doesn't do anything
letting it sit there as if it were waiting to boot doesn't work either.

Has anyone else had this happen?
If it helps i'm just trying to install it on an old Dell Dimension 4100 with a 20gb IDE hard drive... nvidia TNT2 vid hard 512mb ram. anda Hauppauge WinTV PVR250.

Is there something that i can do or is knoppmyth just not compatible with my mother board or bios or something... i'm guessing its this because Dell has "custom" mobos and bios.

now to figure out how to install nvidia drivers instead of "nv" so that i can get a better resolution than 1024x768

with anything newer than A12 all you have to do is install-nvid<tab><tab> then complete the filename of the version you want. This must be run from a console not an xterm. so ctrl+alt+F2 and login as root before running that command.
