Could be that you XF86Config-4 is not correct or the drivers are no good. I've seen posts from some folks that state the drivers didn't work for them....

I had tons of problems with nVidia drivers. Then I found the instructions in the KnoppMyth FAQ and they worked for me.

Well sorry I can't help you with that I haven't ever used the new drivers. I steared well clear of them when I heard how many problems people were having with them. What is really sad is that I am using the unreleased beta drivers and they are solid fast, and have a control panel.

Post subject:  Kernel for knoppmyth

Hallo,
The nvidia installer say that i needed a precompile kernel in my system. I´ve downloaded the three versions of my kernel.
kernel-image-2.4.22-xfs
kernel-source-2.4.22-xfs
kernel-headers-2.4.22-xfs

I´ve uncompress the kernel-sources-2.4.22-xfs and i make a pointer to /usr/src/linux, but the nvidia installer say that don´t find the kernel precompile.

there is not a precompiled nvidia driver for debian based systems. you will have to let it compile a version specifically for your system. you should not have to download anything other than the nvidia driver to do this.

Cesman - you may see my other post. I am NOT using the new drivers, I used the ones you suggested due to what I read here before doing this. Like u say, I am pretty pretty sure it is my config file.

How can I revert?
