Can somebody explain this instruction from the R5 Installation Pamphlet in the post-installation instructions?

(that's http://www.mysettopbox.tv/doc.html)

This implies to me that after I select i686 package that I should select LIRC. But I never get the chance. Does that mean LIRC is not compiled in and I should begin searching for LIRC instructions? Just hoping for a clarification of this instruction...

Thanks.

I yet don't know what the instruction means, but for what it's worth to other people using the same remote as I, as a post-install step I executed simply:

update-rc.d lirc defaults

And then after a reboot wala, my Haupage (PVR-350) remote works. Sadly, the tuner still doesn't (just a black screen) and there is still that ir blaster I have to get working to control my cable box, but one thing at a time.

not that's left over instructions from previous version when lirc support was separate. It is always compiled in now.
