I'm getting the same error but with some not so exotic hardware

P3-750
512MB ram
2x 18gb seagate ATA drives (master/ slave primary channel)
1 toshiba cd-rom drive (master secondary)
intel etherexpress 10/100 ethernet card
Nvideo Geforce 2 mx440 video.

nothing else in the machine yet.

I was able to get around this problem by installing a CD-ROM device and booting with it. I was then able to install Knoppmyth.

I now have other problems that I will post as a new subject.

I have the exact same problem with a SATA DVD drive. Any chance of a few more details on how to resolve this?
