During auto installation of R5A16, at the process of converting Knoppix to Debian I get an error massage saying cp: cannot stat'/mnt/hdinstall/usr/share/gnome/apps/knoppix/*' : No such file or directory.
Creating SSH2 DSA key; this may sed: can't read /tmp/knoppmyth-auto.3705-18964//shadow: No such file or directory

later in the process "Creating initrd"
Filemount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/loop0
or to many mounted file systems.

What goes wrong here.

I checked the MD5sum and it is oke. In total I burned it 3 times now with nero and every time I led nero do a data verification and i was oke all 3 times. I also tried an other DVD rom player and an other HDD. But i keep getting the same errors. If written them all down.

(could this be the IDE device where you in fact use ide-scsi so shat sr0 or sda or so is needed?)

well if cesman says it's safely ignored I believe him, you should probably look elseware for the root of whatever problem you are having.

I got the same errors, and after this the next thing is that the instalation is completed succesfull and that you can reboot the pc.

I've tried 2 different Motherboards, 3 different HDD's and 2 different DVD rom players. I did check the MD5sum (and it was ok) I burn the cd 4 times (Nero burning rom did data verification and it was ok all 4 times) All gave the same result. Now there is also an other person reporting the same errors. It would be nice if you could help us instead of ignoring this problem.

Hi wim,

Instead of complaining about the errors, just reboot and move forward. If they were real serious errors then it probably wouldn't boot. The messages all have been non critical and the system runs fine for myself and many others. You may have to do some fine tuning to make everything run really smooth, however those are not related to the beginning information messages.

It's a great system, it may have a couple of scratches on the hood, but the engine is really good, go for a test drive.

I use the R5A16, best thing since sliced bread!

Your right, that's what I did after the first time installing knoppmyth. And it is becoming to work now. Nevertheless if someone is trying somything new, the firs impression is the most important one. And this is not really a strong start.

yes sorry no one is bothering with any installer errors since there is a new installer getting pretty close to completion that should be the major new feature of R5 when it's complete, so if a problem with the installer doesn't cause any real problems at this point it's going to be ignored as fixing it would me more or less wasted work.

I think you've misunderstood what he meant, which is that the messages could be "safely ignored" and shouldn't hurt anything. In other words, he's not ignoring you but rather telling you to ignore the messages.

BTW - This is not uncommon when you're writing scripts around stuff that you don't really have control of. You'll often find yourself in a situation where you can't just redirect the output to /dev/null because of other stuff that might matter, but end up stuck with spurious error messages in the output as a result...
