| Post subject: | Computer wont boot after install |
I run the install it all goes smoothly untill the very last bit... when its about 80% done some text starts scrolling up it then finishes and displays Install Completed Successfully. So i reboot and I get a "Not Bootable DIsk" error so I put the disk in exit setup and run cfdisk and notice root isnt bootable so I set that to boot and restart. I get the same error so I try running lilo and I get: Warning '/proc/partitions' does not exist, disk scan bypassed assed linux * skipping /vmlinuz.old I tried updating lilo but its already up to date. WIth that said anyone have any tips or need more info? |

Search the forum for "No Bootable DIsk" there are several possible causes from the BIOS not liking the way your HD is jumpered, to a lilo problem because you drives aren't set up in the usual way (PATA drive as the primary master IDE device). |
