Manual install of R5A16 on a clean SATA drive, partitioned as suggested by the phamplet. I used the sata config as instructed. At the end of the file copying, I get a screen full of errors which mention something about ...shadow... I then get an installation ok box. After reboot the machine hangs, but I think that is a lilo bug so I'll try the fixes for that first. 1) Do these shadow errors matter or should I ignore them? 2) Is there a log file that I can access to see exactly what these errors are? Thanks, Simon |

1) I don't think so. 2) no there is not, this would be nice, the problem is at that point in the install you have basically only two filesystems available the readonly filesystem on the cd, and ram, so you can't write the log file to the cd, and if you write it into ram it will be gone after reboot. |
