Unfortunately, the installer isn't smart enough... You'll need to manually modify a configuration file then load it. Read the manually instructions for more details. <ctrl><alt><f2> edit file <ctrl><alt><f1>(back to installer)load file... |

Cecil, Thanks for the hint. I still have problems after manually editing the config file. After loading the config with my proper hard drive partition information, the installer starts, but then says "Failed to mount drive, output to follow" and then nothing. When I mount my root partition hdc6, I see that there was a /boot, /cache, and /myth directory created there rather than on hdc5, hdc7, and hdc8 respectively. The fstab file looks correct (according to my partitioning scheme), but for some reason the script is installing the directories in the wrong place which prevents the drives from mounting? fstab: Code: # /etc/fstab: static file system information. # # <file system> <mount point> <type> <options> <dump> <pass> proc /proc proc defaults 0 0 /dev/hdc6 / reiserfs defaults 0 1 /dev/hdc5 /boot reiserfs notail 0 2 /dev/hdc7 /cache ext2 defaults 0 2 /dev/hdc8 /myth jfs defaults 0 2 /dev/hdc3 none swap sw 0 0 /dev/hdb /media/cdrom0 udf,iso9660 ro,user, noauto 0 0 config file: Code: HD_MODULE="configured" # Determines if the HD should be formatted. (mkfs.*) # Possible are: yes|no # Default value is: yes HD_FORMAT="no" # Sets the Filesystem type. # Possible are: ext3|ext2|reiserfs # Default value is: ext3 HD_FSTYPE="ext3" # Here the Knoppix-System will be installed # This value will be checked by function module_hd_check HD_CHOICE="/dev/hdc6" # Here you can give additional mappings. (Experimental) You need to have the partitions formatted yourself and give the correct mappings like: "/dev/hda4:/boot /dev/hda5:/var /dev/hda6:/tmp" HD_MAP="/dev/hdc7:/cache /dev/hdc8:/myth /dev/hdc5:/boot" # If set to yes, the program will NOT check if there is enough space to install knoppix on the selected partition(s). Use on your own risk! Useful for example with HD_MAP if you only have a small root partition. # Possible are: yes|no # Default value is: no HD_IGNORECHECK="no" /dev/hdc6 directory structure created by install script: Code: lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 11 Sep 30 2005 cdrom -> media/cdrom
