I'm up and running out of the box with an Asus A7N8X-VM/400, TV Out dongle, Athlon XP 2200+, 256MB and a PVR-250. You guys have done an amazing job with KnoppMyth!!! Thanks! Now Step 2. I want to stick a WinTV 401 capture card in next but I want to take a "snapshot" of my working configuration. Things like the modules.conf file etc so that I can at least get back to where I am now. Any tips on how to "snapshot" the device settings? Although, in reality, just booting from the KnoppMyth CD and starting from scratch wouldn't be too bad. Thanks again, BTW: Have you guys setup a Pay Pal "Donate" account? |

You're welcome. KnoppMyth-Backup KnoppMyth If you just adding a card, just put it in. Our scripts should take care of the rest. The only consideration is which PCI slot you put it in... Generally the PCI slot closest to the AGP slot is slot 1. This will be assigned /dev/video(0). While I don't have a Paypal acoount, I have not published it for donations. |

I was wondering how I was going to know which card was on which /dev/video! I put the second card in and things worked mostly great. Unfortunately I also enabled XvMC and things got weird. Not sure if it was the second card or XvMC. I just rebooted from CD and did a new fresh install (without XvMC). Both cards seem to be working fine but the backend seems unstable. I seem to crash if I record a show I'm watching (as opposed to watching a show I'm recording) I'll do some more testing and try to narrow it down. cesman wrote: While I do have a Paypal acoount, I have not published it for donations.
You should give it some thought. I'm having so much fun right now, I'd gladly click on a PayPal donate button. I hate feeling leechy but I can't code so you need to give me some way of feeling like I've contributed. ![]() |
