I've just reinstalled my mythTV system But after creating partitions and rebooting, I got this error "unexpected inconsistency".. Run fsdk (something like that) manually. I run the command. but the installation just crash before running mythtv backend. The hard drive is new (one month ago). my config R5A26 Abit AN7 Sempron 2800 + Pioneer DVD110D any idea ? Do I have to low format? |

You need to be more specific... I sounds like there was an issue with the hard drive. You ran fsck and still solved the problem? Then the system crashed before starting the backend? Was this while booting? Did you verify the MD5SUM before installing? |

I was able to install WINXP on it with no problem. I have tested my drive with Maxtor Blast and it returned no problems and no errors. I ran fsck and said Y each it asked me. But after I ran fsck, I rebooted the computer and the installation crashed when it tried to start mythbackend setup. cesman wrote: Was this while booting? the error happens at the first boot after creating and formatting partitions. cesman wrote: Did you verify the MD5SUM before installing
Nope, but i thought I can't be my CD problem (I burnt the iso on a CDRW). I've downloaded the iso again from one mirror and I burnt it to a CD-R at a slow speed (4x). How do I verify the MD5SUM ? |

If you are using Linux to burn the ISO Code: md5sum KnoppMythR5A26.iso This should return the same value as I've posted on the site. If you are using another Windows to burn, I don't know. If you search the forum you may find the answer. Sorry, I've no interest in Windows other than my professional duties....

Try booting the CD with the "tv testcd" option too. That checks the image in a different way that should reveal burn problems. |

I will try at home ![]() tv testcd? Do I have to get my TV connected to the computer? |

No, you just need another option in front of testcd, it doesn't seem to work on it's own. Other that work include "expert testcd", ... |

Even just "knoppmyth testcd". Just so long as you don't try "testcd" all by it's lonesome. |

Sometimes the incompatibility is even between the burner and the reader... The drive that burned them might like 'em just fine, but another drive miight barf violently. |
