Post subject: | Mythbackend hanging when recording TVs over NFS mount... |
I have installede Knoppix R4v2 and the system works wonderfully when recording TV shows to my local disk. (p3 800Mhz, 256MB, 100Mb/s, 2x Hauppauge 250 tuner cards). However whenever I have the TVs recorded over an NFS mount, the shows will stop recording after some random time period (1 minute - 39 minutes, couple of MB to several GB) and mythbackend seems to partially hang (doesn't respond well until I stop/start it.) The NFS server (P4 2GHz, 1GB, 1TB Raid 5, GBe, FreeBSD 5.2.1) seems to working just fine for other applications (I can "dd" files from the mythbackend machine to the NFS server at 10MB/s). I've tried a variety of NFS mount options including hard vs soft, udp (drop < 1%) vs tcp, NFS v3, without much luck. RPC retrans on the client are 8000 / 1,000,000 (mostly with UDP). (Given my limited understanding of nfsstat and netstat -c, everything looks reasonable.) Have other people encountered this problem? Are there any other settings (explicit memory buffer in myth?) with which I might want to experiment? Thanks, enone |

I'll be trying this soon. I'll post my results as soon as I can get to this project. |
