I am trying to install knoppmyth on a SATA drive and I have read a few guides on the subject, so I did the manual install. Well it's more like I tried to do the manual install but I keep getting an error message saying that I only have read access. I know I must be missing some small detail but it's been driving me up the wall. I've already searched over these forums but couldn't seem to find anyone who had the exact same problem.

Throw us a bone please. We need a lot more info to beable to help you. What hardware are you using? (mobo chipset, HDD manufaturer, etc.) What version knoppmyth are you using? What step in the insalliation do you see this error message? Also try a non-sata drive first. Just for pratice so you can see if the error is actually related to the sata or not.

When you're selecting the drive press 'space' it should put an X next to the drive. I did that too
