I just got everything up and working today beautifully except for one thing, the remote.

Here's the info:
Hauppage PVR250
nVidia FX5700
AMD

Everything worked great after I did the install-nvidia. I thought maybe the remote wasn't working at all, but when I ran:
$irw
I can get
00000000000017e0 00 CH+ hauppaugegrey
etc....
with all the keys. Why doesn't this make any changes to my MythFrontEnd?

Thanks for any help.

Many blessings, Tony

no you won't need to start over just open an xterm and as root run install-i686-l (I think that is the exact command but may be off a bit type install and tab twice and it will show you a list.) that should install the lirc support for the remote then just reboot to be safe and everything should work.

since he's using a nvidia graphic card, shouldn't he do "install-i686-lx to enable the XvMC too?

Actually, I did the install-i686-x and then install-i686-l would it be better to run install-i686-lx?

Blessings, Tony

I think Install-i686-lx install both the lirc and xvmc support. I am just pulling this from the documentation tho. I haven't had the chance to play around with it yet since i do not yet have pvr-350. (getting it today..w00t!)

yes if you want both you have to use the -lx however at this point the script may bomb out cause it really expects the default packages so it doesn't remove the right ones then it tries to overwrite exitsting packages blah blah blah. That is unless these issues were fixed in r4v2. I haven't messed with the install scripts since R4.
