I downloaded the knoppMyth files and burned them onto a cd. I went into BIOS and set the cd-rom drive to be recognized first. The computer that I am trying to install this on is totally formatted. When the computer starts up it reads the cd-rom drive and then says:

Boot from ATAPI CD-ROM: failure...

Has this happened to anyone else? What should I do?

Thanks,
Dustin

either your BIOS doesn't like booting from the CDROM, or your KnoppMyth CD itself is bad. the latter could be a result of bad media, a bad CD burn, or a bad image to begin with. or your CDROM is on the fritz. can you boot from other CD's, like Knoppix or LNX-BBC, or even WinNT/2000/XP disks?

i'd guess that your problem is that the image was not properly burned to the blank CD. what software did you use to create the CD from the ISO, and what were your burn steps?

Well, I made another copy of the CD and got KnoppMyth to install. I went through all of the steps and properly installed KnoppMyth onto my formatted computer. When done installing, the program asked me to remove the cd and reboot the computer. I did this but knoppMyth will not start up. It goes through the initial BIOs and then just stops. There is no GUI that appears for me to log into. I have tried re-installing several times since and the same problem occurs. Any advice?

Thanks,
Dustin
