ok, so over the last week or so ive slowly gotten everything working perfectly... xcept dvd playback. i installed xine because when i went to play any of my videos or dvd/vcd using mplayer, the screen would flicker for a second but stay on the myth menu and not play anything. so i went ahead and installed xine, got video and vcd playback working perfectly, but when i go to play dvds i get the picture but no sound. like ive noted in my other posts, ive only been using linux for a few weeks (ever since learning about mythtv) so im not exactly sure which log files i need to look in to see if there are any problems during dvd playback...

i saw this in another thread about sound, hope it helps some.

because i installed xine, and my reasoning for doing so is because im still "installing" stuff to get mythtv fully functional due to the fact that the 'out of the box' install didn't fully work. yah, i think thats it ;p

anyway, sorry. if it belongs somewhere else, maybe a mod can move it
