Post subject:  R5B7 upgrade stuck at 89% of copying files - help!

I am upgrading R5A22 to R5B7. I booted off the new CD and the only boot option I selected was 'tv'. It seemed to boot OK

I answered the usual questions about users and passwords, and warnings, and it formatted and started to copy files.

I have tried twice and it seems to hang at 89% with both the CD and HD light on - with a little bit of flashing, almost as if it is actually doing something.

So is it really hung, or is it doing something at this point that takes a LONG time?

Update: I redownloaded the ISO (even though the checksum looked correct) and burnt a new CD.

This time it continued on to 100%

It is currently sitting in the GUI 'Restoring mySQL database...'

and it's taking a while, but I'll leave it sit there to see what happens

I'm back up and all seems to be working thanks.

Haven't found mc yet though.

Nobody loved it, so it cried itself to death from lonesomeness.

OK, more likely Cecil whacked it as bloat. :) The ISO's are getting near the limit of what will fit on a CD despite his house cleaning efforts. Frankly I'd far rather see him use the space for stuff relevent to the main mission, which is setting up a mediabox, than for silly stuff like that. People who can't live without it are always free install it themselves.

I agree. A quick apt-get and I have it back again

Thanks.
