Post subject:  some problems with lirc; viaudiocombo + mplayer mythaudio

I installed knoppmyth a few days ago and there are still a few problems:

1. I adjusted the lircd to my remote ( a black Hauppauge + homebrew ir receiver on Com2)
If the lirc modules (lirc_serial + lirc_dev) start a boot automatically, lircd doesn't work. If I remove and insert the modules lirc_serial and lirc_dev manually irw gets signals and it works.
Could give anyone a hint?

2. I own a Via Epia M10000, so I tried the audio driver viaudiocombo. With success!! The crackling noise during 44,1khz MP3s disappeared, when I started mplayer from the console. If I start a MP3 audio file from mythaudio I get an error: myth crashes and I get a bad noise from my speaker.
Has anybody a hint? Where can I change the settings of playing an audio file in mythaudio? (The DVD settings can be modified in mythaudio...)

Michael.

I had a problem like that a while back when I wasn't using the grey remote and I went into /etc/rc3.d and changed Sxxlircd to S99lircd for some reason with my install it didn't like starting as early in the process as it was, and S99 will push it to the very end. This may not work for you, but it's worth a shot.

I'm not sure where the switches for mythaudio are, but the settings for DVD are in the dvd setup menu. If you want to call mplayer with different options just specify the command you would like to run. I would imagine mythaudio is similar.
