Post subject:  Boot hangs on ivtv driver

I installed KnoppMyth (with TV-out at boot) using Auto Install. When I reboot without the cd, the boot process hangs. I can't even restart with CTRL-ALT-DEL. The last line shown before the system hangs is

i2c-core.o: adaptor ivtv i2c driver #0 registered as adapter 0.

Board: MSI K7D
CPU: Dual AMD MP 2000+
Capture: Hauppage PVR-250
Output: PNY AGP 8x with VGA and S-Video

Please advise....

Is the card seated well? Do you have PnP turned off in the BIOS? Disconnted anything you may have attached to USB.

Post subject:  Nope...

I unplugged my usb mouse, turned off PnP and it still doesn't work. I also tried it on my PIII computer without success. Although when I take out the Hauppauge card, it DOES boot up.

Can you specify and IRQ for the card in your BIOS?

i'm beginning to think that I may have a card that is broken or damaged.

Instead of automicatically assigning and IRQ to the card specify one in the BIOS.

Yes I can assign an IRQ but I don't know what I'm doing.

Here's my setup...
AGP Slot --- Video Card
PCI-64 --- Open
PCI-64 --- Open
PCI-32 --- Open
PCI-32 --- Lan
PCI-32 --- Hauppauge PVR-250

Here's what my manual says about IRQ

*** PCI Interrupt Request Routing

PCI Slot 1 - INTA# - INTB# - INTC# - INTD#
PCI Slot 2 - INTB# - INTC# - INTD# - INTA#
PCI Slot 3 - INTA# - INTB# - INTC# - INTD#
PCI Slot 4 - INTB# - INTC# - INTD# - INTA#
PCI Slot 5 - INTC# - INTD# - INTA# - INTB#

*** Reload Global Time Events

IRQ3 ~ IRQ15

----

Now how would I go about setting the IRQ for the card. Any help would be very much appreciated as I have no clue.

Consult your motherboard manual on how to assign IRQ. Have you tried the card in a different slot?
