I have a PVR-350 capture card and a Radeon 7200 video card. This combo works OK but I decided I wanted to use the Radeon 7200 video out since the PVR-350 video out will be slow for anything other than MPEG-2.

Well apparently with the radeon tv out it is not going to work. When XFree starts, it will just say no screens found. I've tried changing the config dozens of times. When the TV is hooked up, XFree thinks that is a monitor. DDC fails for getting refresh rates, etc. but trying to override is fruitless. I give up on this one.

I have a radeon all-in-wonder 8500dv. I keep reading that you can't use it with Mythtv because the gatos project (gatos.sf.net) hasn't got the V4L support working well enough yet. What I'm wondering is, if I can use it as an encoder card? It doesn't do any compression in hardware, so that would have to be done in software, but it does work. I've used xawtv to watch tv through it. Just curious.
