I tried installing Knoppmyth on my Dell XPS 410.

This machine has no IDE interfaces and no PS/2 ports. Mouse & keyboard are both USB, and all drives, including the DVD drive, are SATA.

I was able to get to the boot prompt. Attempting to go any further, no matter what option I chose, resulted in Knoppmyth saying "Can't find KNOPPIX filesystem, sorry". It would then give me a shell prompt.

To add insult to injury, my USB keyboard doesn't appear to work after loading the kernel either. It worked fine at the boot prompt, but not from within this shell.

Any suggestions? Any plans to add support for SATA optical drives or USB keyboards?

Here's another thread about this issue, which is beginning to look like something affecting Core 2 Duo systems: http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=74698

USB keyboards should work... Are you willing to help test the next release?

I use a ps/2 keyboard with a usb convertor since the ps/2 ports on my mobo are jacked. This worked great installing both R5D1 and later downgrading to R5C7 (the joys of owning a convertX).

Isn't this more of a motherboard issue then a software issue?

I will help you test it. Let me know what you would like for me to do.
Thanks
