Does anyone know how to get a Radeon 9550 to work on R5F27? I tried doing the install-radeon-debian.sh with no luck at all. It just downloads the file, then deletes it since it can't convert the rpm. Is there anything else I can try? The version of Knoppmyth I was using before was R5A30.1, and it just worked. If not what would be a good AGP Nvidia card to get, that will work without a problem with R5F27?

Install the debs in /usr/src/debs/ati, then run aticonfig.

Doesn't it work with the Xorg "ati" driver?

I just installed the .deb files in /usr/src/debs/ati, and they
work fine (except TV-out isn't supported). I see very little
difference between xorg's ati driver and ati's fglrx driver.
Both require about 20% cpu to playback an SD ATSC stream using
an Xv video overlay.

The usual recommendation seems to be that a 5200 or 6200 will
work fine, and anything more than that is wasted money (and
more importantly wasted heat) unless you're into OpenGL games
or music visualizations.

I just ordered an eVGA FX5200 card from NewEgg. I'm not too
happy that it has a fan, but if it will play back HDTV OK, I'll
reward it with a nice replacement heatsink.
