I spent about 15 hours googling and editing XF86Config-4 to no avail. It seems you can only get either the monitor OR the TV out working but not both at the same time.

That said I'm not sure if it is even possible to get simultaneous Monitor + TV working under Linux anyway. I think to do that you have to use windows :( OR maybe just build TWO Myth Boxes one for monitor and one for TV! (last sentance was only kidding, just v frustrated)

Perhaps I'm mistaken, but I don't think the NForce-2 IGP is twinview capable.

I've done it, but it's not worth the effort. http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic. ... t=twinview

Thanks very very very very much it was simply the ConnectedMonitor line that was going wrong. I misunderstood and was using :-

Option "ConnectedMonitor" "Monitor0, Monitor1"
or
Option "ConnectedMonitor" "Monitor0, TV"
+ trying all sorts of permutations of 2 monitors defined, or 1 monitor + all other settings. Thinking the specified choices were the 2 monitors you defined etc etc.

What a nightmare, nearly 2 days spent trying to figure that one out. Having to reboot the machine every time X wouldn't run, or ctrl-shift-backspace when it did and I chnaged something, which meant that 30 second login screen - yawn, I'm sick of looking at that login screen, why it's even there is totally beyond me in the first place!

Maybe the KnoppMyth team should have ANOTHER example XF86Config for nvidia cloned Monitor AND TV. Re-reading the nvidia docs AGAIN, I must have misuderstood, easy when you know how. It seems that my having a KVM would have prevented auto-detection using DDC which didn't help. OK well that's got me on my way.

I was led astray by example XF86Config's
