How strange. I updated my tzdata and it shows the correct schedule now when I do "zdump -v /etc/localtime | grep 2007". But it did not advance one hour last night. I didn't get any errors when installing the update. I wonder what the problem could be?

Worked great on R5A26! And in less than a minute, it was so perfect.

Thanks so much!

I ran these instructions on a combined back-end / front-end system (R5D1) and it fixed the time setting perfectly. What I found after running the fix is that the program schedule was off by an hour. In order to fix that issue, refresh the listing data with:

Code:
mythfilldatabase --refresh-all

Credit this fix to http://knoppmythwiki.org/index.php?page=ProgramGuideIsOff

Interestingly enough.. parts of my schedule were OK.. parts were not.. so this is a good thing to run! (I'll suggest that since I did the update a few days ago.. and myfilldatabase did some day updates.. these days were corrected.. and other days were not corrected.)

Newby hints: (I'm included in this group! )

for the DST update.. login as "root" or use "su - root"
for the mythfilldatabase .. use your mythtv user account.

Thanks for the guide. It was a big help, but it's "Daylight saving time"(no s on the end of saving)

My search didn't turn the guide up (It should now though), but tjc was nice enough to point me to it.

Awesome.

I forgot today was going to be the early spring ahead and came here to see if anyone had a quick fix before I spent the afternoon working on it.

I wish I could give karma points to the author. :)

Thanks!

R5C7 still here (couldn't get xvmc and HDTV to playback reliably after upgrade to R5E50).

Very helpful post!! I had taken other steps from another location, but without success.

Great Guide!

Ok, this is driving me crazy.... The time is correct, but the program listing is now an hour off... Tried:
Code:
mythfilldatabase --refresh-all

No luck. Tried setting the offset in mythtv-setup and no change.

Anyone with any ideas??

Thanks

R5C3 here .. worked well even though it's after the fact. I was worrying the Windows and Mac boxes so much, I forgot about good ol' Myth. Thank you!
