I spent a few hours getting Mythstream working. The audio worked for me as is though.
The problem with the video links is that almost all of them use www.wwitv.com and they changed their directory structure so the links are no longer good.
What I did was to go through all of the video links I wanted on www.wwitv.com, wrote down where they ended up leading to (ex. http://www.rambler-audio.ru/asx/video/rambler-tv.asx), then through Myth's set up menus, edited all of the Mythstream video info.
Not very elegant, but it worked.

I seem to have two problems: a) Almost all of the default streams give me "no stream" as the status. b) Of the one or two that do work, I get no sound. I can see the sound meters moving, but no sound comes out. I have my audio routed out SPDIF. All apps are configured to use ALSA:spdif (per this post: http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=5393), but I am blowed if I can see where to do that for mytharchive. Does anyone have it working? Thanks. Paul. p.s. video, tv, music etc all work well.

Ouch! Thanks for the tip about wwitv - I'll have a look. That sorts out the streams at least. I suspect the problem with sound is that I use ALSA to send the audio through SPDIF. There doesn't seem to be a way to configure audio in MythStream, so I'm guessing it uses the default audio configuration for linux. Cheers. I listen to the Shoutcast streams through Mythstream more than I watch TV. I have two sound cards and I could not figure out how to get Mythstream to switch which card to use for the output so I just plugged the audio cable into the other card (I use the analog output). I believe your problem lies in the configuration of mplayer, which Mythstream uses for the audio output. Cledus is spot on. Mythstream uses mplayer as it audio engine so you need to get mplayer set up to do digital audio output. If you follow my thread that Cledus linked above you should be able to sort it out. I spent many hours but finally got it to work! Martian

Ok - I can happily report that mplayer is sending data via SPDIF. If anyone is interested - the easiest way is to add: Code: ao="alsa:device=spdif" #audio out mixer-channel="Master" srate=48000 to your ~/.mplayer/config file.
