Hello, Everyone,

For some weird reason one of my PVR-150's lost the ability to "tune" again. Usually a reboot would fix it, but not this time.

I searched the boards and decided perhaps the best thing to do was to go ahead and delete the cards in MythTV-setup and reconfigure them.

After doing this, I no longer am able to watch LiveTV.

I have repeatedly deleted the cards and recreated them, assigning them to the correct source/connection, and refilling the guide data etc.

The program guide looks good-nothing is missing there.

However, here is an example from my /var/log/mythtv/mythbackend.log :

Eek. Not good. Wife will not be happy. Any ideas on what I should do from here?

I have reset the correct recording profiles with the PVR-150 and the R5E50 release... thought that might be it, but it's still not working.

After defining all the cards and the source data in mythtv-setup, when I exit I get this error:

Code:
Card 0 (type ) is set to start on channel 3, which does not exist.
Card 0 (type ) is set to start on channel 3, which does not exist.
Card 0 (type ) is set to start on channel 3, which does not exist.

It doesn't even appear as if the cards are entered correctly... ? Or am I missing something really basic here?

Thanks in advance for ANY help on this!!!

What do the ivtv sections in the dmesg output or the /var/log/messages log files look like? Have you been through all the steps on the BlackScreenWatchingTV troubleshooting page on the wiki? Finally, have you checked your firmware following the directions on the CompileIvtv pages and shut the machine down _cold_ for at least a couple minutes?

tjc,

Thanks for the reply. I'm presently rewiring my server room at work, but will try this when I get home in a few hours.

Thankfully, the wife has some studying to do, so that helps quite a bit! :)

I'll look through the knoppmythwiki blackscreen info when I get home. The 3 cards all show up OK on the dmesg, so far as I can tell--I'll post that info when I get back.

Thanks!

Ah. Looks like I found the problem.

I had all the PVR-150's configured as Analog capture cards--I completely passed over the option for which kind of card it was, due to it not being easily seen as a highlighted object (as the others on the page).

It's MUCH better now :)

Thanks for the help!!
