The strangest thing happened. I got to a point when I actually watched all my recordings. And after watching those, I deleted them. After the last recording was deleted, I can't return from the empty recordings screen!

No ESC, no nothing. I had to power off the whole computer from the mains switch.

I'm using R5E50, and this happens every time the recordings list is cleared. Easy to avoind by not deleting the last recording, but most of the time I seem to forget it.

Does someone know a cure for this?

Create a manual recording called 'Do not delete'?

If this is a bug, its likely to be a mythtv one, so might be worth raising on the mythtv lists...

Was the whole box locked up or just the front end? Did you try Alt-x for a terminal or using mythweb to see if the backend was still running?

Interesting problem.

Ctrl-alt-backspace should restart the x server (and log you back in). Try it and see if it works.

Known issue they've been chasing for awhile:

Seems if you turn off the preview window you won't have this problem.

Thanks, guys!

Turning off the preview did the trick. Who needs those anyway...
