Post subject:  Kiosk setup help

I have a customer who owns a CD store. He wants a system where he can put a CD in a CD player behind the counter and have a listening post with controls elsewhere in his shop.

My idea was to set up a KnoppMyth box with a touchscreen and headphone jack on the wall. My questions are:

Is there a way of locking the system so it boots straight to the CD player GUI?
Does KnoppMyth support touchscreens?
Is there a way of making the CD player controls work with the mouse (and therefore a touchscreen)?

Thanks

Edit: I am also testing KnoppMyth on a VirtualPC 2007 VM, and can't get the sound to work. Any tips?

Touch screen support for mythtv was added 0.20, no idea how you set it up though.

In virtual PC 2004 you had to run alsaconf to setup the sound, i guess its similar in 2007.

You can edit the XML menus at least to only have one choice. Stored in /usr/share/mythtv

Either edit directly or place copies in MythTV's home directory, I think in .mythtv.

Right tool for the right job. KnoppMyth is overkill. Why not look into something specifically for playing MP3s? Something like this.

I tried alsaconf, but it didn't find anything.

Thanks for your replies so far, everyone.
