I just upgraded my frontend computer to 7.10 kubuntu. ever since, mythfrontend has been acting funny. it seems to open up the video driver when i watch the first show. this works fine, but it keeps it locked or doesnt properly close the video driver afterwards. so trying to watch subsequent videos, i only see a sloppy purple screen. And while i leave the frontend open, mplayer displays the same crappy pink screen. here's the errors from mythfrontend

Code:

what drivers are you using? possible kubuntu installs open source drivers by default and the nvidia drivers will be better? .. not really applicable if you have a ati card tho .. but your post didn't really say.

ya, that was actually the problem. i just installed the proprietary drivers and that fixed the purple screen as well as another problem ive been having (slow scrolling through menus).

Thanks
