Post subject: | Purple screen with audio when watching TV |
I just upgraded my frontend computer to 7.10 kubuntu. ever since, mythfrontend has been acting funny. it seems to open up the video driver when i watch the first show. this works fine, but it keeps it locked or doesnt properly close the video driver afterwards. so trying to watch subsequent videos, i only see a sloppy purple screen. And while i leave the frontend open, mplayer displays the same crappy pink screen. here's the errors from mythfrontend Code: 2007-10-24 10:28:23.669 TV: Attempting to change from None to WatchingPreRecorded

what drivers are you using? possible kubuntu installs open source drivers by default and the nvidia drivers will be better? .. not really applicable if you have a ati card tho .. but your post didn't really say. |

ya, that was actually the problem. i just installed the proprietary drivers and that fixed the purple screen as well as another problem ive been having (slow scrolling through menus). Thanks |
