Does anyone know how to get the newest version of miro (which is what they are now calling the democracy player) installed on KM R5F27? The version that is on there must be to old and doesn't work anymore. The channel search feature doesn't work so you can't find new show. I have tried to do a apt-get install democracyplayer but it says I have the newest one install but I know that is not true if I check out the web site www.getmiro.com. I hope other people are using this it is a great program I have been using it for the last couple of version of KM to watch show like DL.tv or diggnation and others. Thanks |

Yes, I have it installed, and working. It doesn't' seem to but very stable.. but that could be more the way i have it installed.. I won't bother to give you the exact commands. I'll have to try it on a few virtual appliances, so i can get the method down correctly.. I don't suggest you really try this unless your feeling brave ![]() But basically; 1. I changed to sources to unstable 2. apt-get update 3. apt-get install miro 4. apt barfed hard.. 5. dpkg-reconfigure (I think that what i did) 6. Had a system freeze (panic) 7. Rebooted, x was messed 8. ran dpkg-reconfigure again (I think). Everything seem to be good 9. apt-get install miro (this time it worked) 10. Try to run it.. Got an error.. something about a system tray. 11. apt-get install python-gtk2 12. removed /home/mythtv/.democracy 13. re-ran miro. everything worked okay. I haven't really tested it, but it seems to work. prosonik |

the version that came out about a month ago works pretty well and hasn't crashed on me yet (v. 1.1.1, i think). change your sources to unstable and you should be able to apt-get without a problem (although definitely do a -s first -- a couple versions ago tried to uninstall about 80 packages -- this one worked for me, though). |

I'll try in on the virtual appliance in the next couple days, and report back. When i did it, it left with a very unstable Miro. I'm having problems with VLC now and mythstreamtv, so I'm not sure if it's connected. but my system is also suffering a LVM failure, and i'm 3000km away from it right now, so I can't be sure anything is working correctly. ![]() pro |

After I changed to unstable and did a apt-get update then did a apt-get install miro. It finds about 30MB of new stuff to download but when it tries to install it I get errors. |
