I got Samba up and running, but when viewing /myth remotely, it isn't showing any of the usual subdirectories (tv, video, etc). Its showing a bunch of directories beginning with a period, like ".democracy". I think its reading /myth on sda1, instead of /myth on sda3 (a partition on the same physical disk drive, mounted as /myth).

I added more Samba shares so I could see /myth/tv and /myth/video, however, I'd like to fix the share for /myth so it reads from sda3. TIA for any help and hints.

I think there's a typo somewhere in your post. If you meant "/home/myth on sda1..." then it sounds like you have a user 'myth' so you're winding up with a duplicate share definition because each user name becomes an implicit share name.

If you comment-out the [homes] section in smb.conf you should be good. Alternately you can rename the [myth] share and use the new name when you mount the share on the remote machine.
