Post subject:  Transcoding .nuv's

I have tried to transcode a few nuv files but after each try it doesn't seem to do anything (pressing x while they play) .....here's an example of what it is telling me....

2003-11-25 15:28:24 Transcoding from /myth/tv/5003_20031122223000_20031122230000.nuv to /myth/tv/5003_20031122223000_20031122230000.nuv.tmp
2003-11-25 15:28:25 Reencoding video in 'raw' mode
2003-11-25 15:28:25 Fast-Forwarding from 0 to 22746
2003-11-25 15:28:32 Fast-Forwarding from 23349 to 32652
2003-11-25 15:28:38 Fast-Forwarding from 33274 to 36927
IOBOUND - blocking in ThreadedFileWriter::Write()
IOBOUND - blocking in ThreadedFileWriter::Write()
2003-11-25 15:29:40 Fast-Forwarding from 43711 to 53790
2003-11-25 15:29:40 Transcoding /myth/tv/5003_20031122223000_20031122230000.nuv done

I checked out the files in the TV directory and the modified date has changed but when I play them nothing seems to change. Another odd occurence is that there is a 33 gig .tmp file in the directory also.

I want to get them into AVI's so that I can edit.

When you are viewing the .nuv, press M then edit the file. This will create a cutlist. At an xterm or TTY use nuvexport. nuxexport<TAB>. Select the program and have it use the the cutlist. You can also transfer the file to another Linux workstation and use avidemux.

nuvexport is quite cool, where can I find the sources, I want to get it running on my Apple Powerbook G4 which is much faster then my mythtv-box (Celeron 300).

Thanks,
Rene
