Post subject:  Directing OSS audio to SPDIF? Possible?

I have a Dragon home-built clone with the AV710 audio card. I have the SPDIF output of that card connected to my 5.1 home theater receiver. It works great for recordings, video, TV, even xmame.

However...

I have some other games in MythGame that apparently use OSS (as opposed to ALSA) for audio. When I launch O2EM, for instance, the console says it initialized OSS audio successfully, but I can't hear any sound thru the SPDIF. TuxRacer and Frozen Bubble that come installed with KnoppMyth (or at least used to be there - I can't find them after R5F27) have the same problem.

I was wondering if there is a way to configure OSS to use the SPDIF output on KnoppMyth?

Thanks...

I believe you can, although I have not tried it. A quick Google for "OSS spdif output" yields many hits, does this one help? http://www.mail-archive.com/alsa-user@l ... 20545.html
