More details than you probably ever wanted to know about how to correct your time settings. http://www.knoppmythwiki.org/index.php?page=ProgramGuideIsOff

Well, that link didn't seem to work for me. Tzdata tells me that Eastern Time zone is set, but it tells me to run tzconfig in order to change it. When I try to run tzconfig it tells "command not found". Do I need to do something special in order to get tzconfig to run? I tried installing with apt-get, but now luck there. I'm using R5F27 if that makes any difference. Thanks.

Did you scroll down to the part where it mentions
Code:
Note: In newer versions of KnoppMyth (e.g. R5F1) you need to use a different command to set the system timezone. Either

/usr/local/bin/KnoppMyth-tz

or

dpkg-reconfigure tzdata
?

From the wiki article tjc told you about:

Quote:

/usr/local/bin/KnoppMyth-tz

or

dpkg-reconfigure tzdata

If you have a problem after you have your timezone correct and the system time correct then check the xmltv time offset. Go into mythtv setup. Go into the general section. Once there go to the third page. You will see an option that says Time offset for xmltv listings. Set this to auto. If it is set to none it assumes any xmltv guide data is local and might have your shows coming on the utc schedule. Auto will take your timezone into account and change the shows appropriately.

Sorry, I did see that, but I just didn't mention it.

/usr/local/bin/KnoppMyth-tz
gives me "no such file or directory"

dpkg-reconfigure tzdata
is what I described in my last post where it tells me what time zone is set, and tells me to use tzconfig if I want to change it.

sorry, I'm an idiot. I got it working. A little problem with recognizing the difference between lower case and upper case letters. Thanks for your help!

Um, that little note about more recent versions is now missing from the post tjc sent me. Did one of you guys cut it out of the code?

Since you appear to be new to LINUX, yeah, most things are case sensitive. Here's a little shortcut you should know: begin typing and hit the <tab> key. LINUX will auto complete what you started based on what's there or present the various options to you.

In this case, you can simply start typing: Knop<tab>

You'll get
Code:
$ KnoppMyth-

If you hit <tab> a second time, it'll show you all the files that start with those characters like so:
Code:
$ KnoppMyth-
KnoppMyth-auto         KnoppMyth-main         KnoppMyth-tz
KnoppMyth-frontend     KnoppMyth-osd          KnoppMyth-upg
KnoppMyth-frontend.ts  KnoppMyth-run
KnoppMyth-install      KnoppMyth-testcd
