That seems short. I don't even see the the start of the SHUTDOWN_COUNTDOWN messages. Did you remember the "-v all"?

EDIT: I just realised the errors probably go to stderr. You need to execute the following to get them in the file:
Code:
mythwelcome -v all > output.txt 2>&1

Should it be UTC?
Things work best when the BIOS is set to UTC. These values look okay. Might have to wait until mythwelcome is working to debug the incorrect wakeup time (if it is still there). Although.... you are UTC+2 and the error is 2 hours which is pretty suspicious.

Small offtopic question.What does this mean:
Code:
Xlib:  extension "Generic Event Extension" missing on display ":0.0".
Severals of those messages comes when I launch firefox and when I used that mythwelcome -v all command.
Harmless. http://bugs.archlinux.org/task/13223

Bios time was correct UTC. That my time is UTC+2 is suspicious but I dont think its about that because the boot was actually 2,5 h later.

I still only see 12s of output (19:21:08.505-19:21:20.157). The countdown timer is set to 120s, so that isn't enough.

Can you make sure you wait for the timer to count down to 10 and restart. Then exit mythwelcome before you grab the output file to make sure all is written to the file. That should capture the logs of the problem occuring.

Cheers,

Allen

I got it working! Dunno what exactly I did, but it just worked. I actually had to make an upgrade install on the R6 because I had some other problems on booting. So maybe that did it. Now im rumbling with an other problem. Gonna test it again after I get my recordings work better.

Edit: Thanks for ur help :!:

To setup mythwelcome, simply modify your .fluxbox/apps so that mythwelcome starts:

Code:
$ nano /home/mythtv/.fluxbox/apps
I just installed whole system again (6.0.2... something.....) and now im trying to get Mythwelcome to work, but there is no "/.fluxbox/apps" file. So where can I find it?

In the Service Menu-->LinHES Configuration-->System Type there is a Run MythWelcome checkbox. That should enable MythWelcome for LinHES.

You should have a /home/mythtv/.fluxbox/apps file. Does mythfrontend start at boot for you?

Got it working. Thx. Does the same wakeup settings (in the 1st post) work for 6.0.2?

'Fraid not. I'm not sure if this has been fixed in 6.02, but I see there is a ticket to correct the settings for 6.03.

The paths have changed, but there is change in the time format.

Check out here.

Upgrade to 6.03.00: http://www.linhes.org/bugs/projects/linhes/wiki/Upgrade_LinHES#LinHES-60300

The upgrade_linhes.sh will run the mythwelcome-config.py which should set the correct settings for you.

I just downloaded 6.03.00 iso a couple of days ago and did a clean install and setup a standalone system. The "Run MythWelcome" was checked during the configuration part of the install. The results where a Mythwelcome screen that counts down to 10sec and restarts the sequence over again. On checking the backend setup settings as follows.

Wakup time format: HH:MM yyyy-MM-dd
Command to set time: (blank)
Server halt command: sudo /sbin/halt -p
Pre shutdown check-command: (blank)

among other things no "T" in time format. It appears to be the default data.

MythWelcome Settings

Command to set wakeup Time: /usr/bin/nvram-wakeup --settime $time
Wakeup time format: time_t
nvram-wakeup Restart Command: /sbin/grub-set-default 1
Command to reboot: /sbin/reboot
Command to shutdown: /sbin/poweroff
Command to run Xterm: xterm
Command to run to start frontend: /usr/bin/mythfrontend

I don't know what the correct settings are for R6. but it appears that some are similar here.

/home/mythtv/.fluxbox/apps

#Uncomment below if you are using firewire
#[startup] {/usr/bin/plugctl -n 0 "oPCR[0].n_p2pconnections=1"}
[startup] {feh --bg-scale ~/.fluxbox/wallpaper.png}
[startup] {/usr/LH/bin/LinHES-run}

No MythWelcome statement in apps but MythWelcome dos start

As a last stitch effort I unclicked the Mythwelcome box in the LinHES
Configuration Menu and rebooted . MythWelcome did not start

I re enabled the box and reinstalled with the same results as above. From what I can see the Bug #630 is closed. http://www.linhes.org/bugs/issues/630#change-2988

If no one sees any garring errors I will open a flyspray bug report.
Also what entries do I need to have to make it work? If someone could post what they have in a working R6.03 system.
This is on a test machine right now so it can be a guinea pig if need be.

Thanks
TVBox

TVBox, you should only need to run the /usr/LH/bin/mythwelcome-config.py script to correct your settings.

Ran /usr/LH/bin/mythwelcome-config.py

my xTerm window

All screen configurations remain the same as original post

Backend
Wakup time format: HH:MM yyyy-MM-dd
Command to set time: (blank)
Server halt command: sudo /sbin/halt -p
Pre shutdown check-command: (blank)

front end
Command to set wakeup Time: /usr/bin/nvram-wakeup --settime $time
Wakeup time format: time_t
nvram-wakeup Restart Command: /sbin/grub-set-default 1
Command to reboot: /sbin/reboot
Command to shutdown: /sbin/poweroff
Command to run Xterm: xterm
Command to run to start frontend: /usr/bin/mythfrontend

What appears to me as the problem is that in the last line the new (6.03 system @ 192.168.1.41) is trying to connect to a non running (R5.5 Master @ 192.168.1.51)

It is a stand alone box. How do I stop this from happing?

My guess is that the backend settings are misconfigured. Run mythtv-setup and make sure your backend ip addresses are correct.
