So Hulu doesn't want 3rd party applications to use their service. Fine, why fight them? Instead just use Firefox to view Hulu or any other online video content directly.

Install firefox and flash:
Code:
pacman -S firefox
pacman -S flashplugin

Create a menu entry for Firefox in the Online Streams submenu:
Update /usr/share/mythtv/is.xml with the following:
Code:
<!--#Firefox-->
    <button>
    <type>STREAM</type>
    <text>Firefox</text>
    <action>EXEC /usr/bin/Firefox</action>
    </button>
<!--#Firefox-->

Restart X and the new menu for Firefox should now be listed. Fire it up.

Go to the following website:
http://app.neuros.tv/

This site is the best online aggregator for online video content I've ever seen. It's used by the Neuros Link box but works with any web browser just fine. It even lists Hulu videos through it.

Register (it doesn't cost anything). Go into the Firefox preferences and make this your default home page. You can also add Hulu, youtube, Justin.tv or any other video site.

Enjoy!

Have you had success watching hulu via Firefox in full-screen mode? Firefox plays hulu videos fine, but freezes when I click "full screen". Based on my hardware (FX5200; Dell 4300 with Intel Pentium 4 (1.5 GHz);
BIOS Revision A02; 512MB RAM) is my computer incapable of handling full screen video?

Works without issue for me.

Also works fine for me. Have you tried upgrading your video driver, Firefox, or Flashplayer?

Regarding Firefox & Flashplayer, I downloaded them for the first time just before trying hulu. So, I would imagine they are the latest versions. However, I have not updated my Nvidia drivers...ever. I'll look into that next. If you have any other ideas, let me know. Thank you for your help!

Flash takes a good bit more processing power in Linux than it does in Windows. Not sure why but it does. Things got much better with the release of Flash 10 but for full screen your 1.5Ghz chip could still be holding you back.

If you can ssh into the machine while running hulu full screen then you can fire up top and see if your processor is pegged out at 100%.

Of course you could do the same with X-term (ALT+X) as well.

Thanks hackmeister,

I just did that with 6.02 and I had to change the action to lower caps
dunno what's different from a previous install, but worked for me!

Code:

<!--#Firefox-->
    <button>
    <type>STREAM</type>
    <text>Firefox</text>
    <action>EXEC /usr/bin/firefox</action>
    </button>
<!--#Firefox-->

other than that works great
Thanks again
