Code:
# pacman -Syu

When I run the above command I get the following question?
Code:
Starting full system upgrade...
:: Replace iproute with core-testing/iproute2? [Y/n]

How or what does the answering of the above question do? how should I answer it? I did it both ways. I am wondering if this is what disabled dhcp. now every time I reboot I have to do a dhcpcd -n eth0 to get the network back up. I said no the second time and my dhcpcd is working correctly now. It may be just a coincident.

Thanks,
Jim

Just hit enter to accept the default "Y" and let it do it's thing (if you intend to do a system upgrade). Arch has the best package manager out there. You wont break anything..

You can always look in /data/var/cache/pacman/pkg for an older version of a package that you replaced if things go bad. You can downgrade with the command:

Code:
$ sudo pacman -U /data/var/cache/pacman/pkg/your-pkg.tar.gz

Where do you actually change the dhcp service settings? The old package will not install, so you have to "dhcpcd -n eth0" each time the server is rebooted.
