Hi All,

Could someone with a better understanding of the mythtv svn development process kindly figure out when the following closed ticket is likely to make it into a release of mythtv/LinHES? It says version = head, but milestone = unknown..
http://svn.mythtv.org/trac/ticket/6138

Cheers,

Nathan

It's in mythtv trunk, but you will not see it in a stable release until 0.22.

You can run trunk if you want using the mythtv-svn packages. There is more than multirecord support there (mainly VDPAU and HD-PVR support). Make sure you read all the warnings in my post below:

http://knoppmyth.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=19656

There are significant changes in mythtv setup running the latest. You will probably need to redo your HDHomeRun channel scans (only the underscore is supported as a subchannel delimiter). It may seem to work, but there will be some strangeness until you do this.

Oh... and head = trunk = latest unreleased svn version

hey nharris,

A while ago I installed mythtv-vdpau, which i believe installed mythtv-svn. I reverted out of mythtv-vdpau, back to mythtv (normal) as there was problems with commflagging/transcoding.

I might try again, as mythtv-svn seems to have been updated in August, which might have fixed the commflagging/transcoding issues.

Cheers,

Nathan

mythtv-vdpau is a hack of the 0.21 fixes code. mythtv-svn is svn trunk. The mythtv-svn package does not have any commflagging problems.

very cool... I did it last night, and all is well..

From memory
Code:
pacman -R mythtvappletrailers
pacman -R mythtv mythtv-extras
pacman -U mythtv-svn mythtv-extras-svn

and i was up and running (after a mythtv-setup database update), and tuner change to add multirec to the hdhomerun tuners!

Excellent...

When 0.22 goes real, i'm guessing I can just un-pacman the svn stuff, and reload the standard mythtv packages?

Thanks for the advise, this pacman stuff is tops!

Cheers,

Nathan

Yes, that is how it should work. However, I still think there is a good amount to time before 0.22 will be the default mythtv in LinHES. Some stuff still is not fully incorporated in the mythtv-svn build (like all the MythVantage stuff and other add-ons).
