Post subject:  [Solved] Harmony remote, streamzap receiver codes ignored

I am trying to get a Harmony One remote to operate R6 using a streamzap usb receiver to pick up the IR signal. (There is an inbuilt imon ir receiver in the pc, but that is in the way too hard basket).

I have followed the guide at http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/Logitech_Harmony_Generic_Setup

I set the remote to unknown in Linhes setup and then created an lircd.conf file in accordance with the above guide.

I have tested the output with irw. All major keys are seen in the x terminal and show correct output.

However, when in the front-end, all keys are ignored. Nothing works. The streamzap remote shows it is receiving a signal.

I also have Logitech DiNovo mini that operates the frontend no problem, (but it has a very low WAF).

So I am stumped as to why the codes are seen as correct in irw, but ignored in the frontend.

Firstly, you need to know if lircd is running. In an xterm,
ps -ef| grep lirc|grep -v grep
will tell you.

If you get the correct buttons being echoed with irw, the problem probably lies in your lirc.conf (should be in ~mythtv and /etc/lircrc - former is a symlink) so have a look and fix it: The mappings must match those in the lircd.conf.

Yep, it was the lircrc that was the problem.

Wow, 2 breakthroughs in 1 day (my hdmi problem also solved). I don't know whether to go to the pub or buy a ticket in Tatts....maybe neither, because with the now high WAF remote I should get lucky tonight....so I better be sober.

Thanks very much for your help. :D
