| Post subject: | howto locate boot up log messages? |
Hi all, I pushed F2 on boot last night (you know switches from yellow Linhes bootsplash to blue background with details of services starting), and noticed i had some saa7134 errors scrolling up the screen, but the machine boots so fast i couldnt really get the detail down. Is there any place where the nice arch/linhes startup messages get logged? I could seem to locate the messages in the normal candidates (dmesg etc) Cheers, Nathan |

Check out: Code: /var/log/dmesg.log

The dmesg is a great place to look, but you'll find that the wording that you see on the boot screen often differs from what's in the log. My advice is to get digital camera w/ "movie" mode and record the boot process. You can play it back after it finishes and pause, zoom, etc. |
