Post subject:  watching while recording TV (timeshift) broken

Hello,

for over a year my Knoppmyth installation was working very well.
Since a couple of weeks I can not watch a TV program while it is being recorded (time shift).

It does record but when I select watching it, I only receive a black screen and after a few seconds MythTV returns to Mediathek and it asks me, if I want to delete or keep it.

When I start Mythfrontend out of a console I receive several error messages like this, when I try to watch a program which is being recorded:

Code:
[...]
TV error: StartPlayer () : NVP is not playing after 2000 msec
changeing from none to watchingRecording
attempting to change from watchingRecording to none
parser not found for codec ID 94211 !
[....]

On the other hand, there is no problem, to watch an older program (recording is finished) while the current program is being recorded.

When the recording of the current program has finished, I can watch it, without problems.

Strange, that I did not do any updates, as my MythTV has no internet connection. There is no other use with the system than MythTV.

Are there any ideas how to solve this?

Thanks in advance

Hello forum,

does anyone have an idea, what is wrong with my MythTV?

I am really missing time shift watching as this is a great feature in MythTV.

Thanks a lot in advance

Just a guess, but if the start channel and/or tuner when watching LiveTV is invalid or not broadcasting, this will happen. I can't remember where it is configured at the moment. You might check the setup.

Hello Alien,

the start channel seems to be ok. There is no problem when I am watching TV, it works fine.
Executing a scheduled recording also works fine (inkl. timer wake-up and shut down).
Watching a recording after it is finished also works fine.

The only problem is watching a recording while it is being recorded.

Any ideas?
