I woke up this morning and noticed my mythtv box was hung on something, so I rebooted it...then it came to a screen telling me that it was unable to login because:

1) Maybe it was out of space

or

2) the home directory was not available for writing

I deleted some recordings via SFTP, so I know there's space, but I've rebooted several times and it keeps giving me the same error.

How do I fix this??!!

Thanks,

Jake

Here's another thing it said: it can't write to my authorization file. I noticed the .Xauthority file is totally blank...does this have anything to do with the problem?

probably not space on /myth rather probably in the root / filesystem

do a
Code:
df -H
and look for full filesystems. several of us have had ivtv issues fill up kern.log, messages, system.log and mythbackend.log

you may want to read http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=5468&highlight=kern+log

well many times / will fill up, and the culprit file is usually somewhere in /var/log

Hi,
If something generates an error as mentioned earlier, it can fill the whole drive to 100%. I posted a script here on the forum just for this issue. Then you will need to fix the cause. Try looking at all posts for mjl to locate it.
