Have knoppmyth working wonderfully, I have a usage question....when browsing the program guide and I want to select a channel with the remote which key do i hit to tune to the channel? I know I can hit "m" on my keyboard. Otherwise, I have to exit the program guide and tune to the channel as normal...it's much more convenient to do it from the pg. hitting the "ok" key just gives me other options, none of which tune to the channel. The answer is probably right in front of me, which is why I cant find it...........:)

Look in your /home/mythtv/.lircrc file and see if any buttons are mapped to "M". :)

If I'm not mistaken the menu key is mapped to M.

menu key is mapped to "m" so theoretically I could just hit "menu" to enter epg and menu again to tune to a channel. I'll try it out and see............

later,

I know if you are watching live tv you can hit menu bring up the epg and hit menu agian to change the channel, I am not sure how to just start watching a show instead of recording if you went to the epg from schedule recordings, but I think there is a key for that, however I'm not sure it's mapped on the remote.

Yeah, that's how it works; menu, find prog, menu to watch.

What my wife wants is this: menu, find prog, middle button (I forget what it's labelled as) to watch. This is what she's used to for Tivo, and I admit it makes more sense to me. If you do that now though, it enters the "record options" screen.

I've poked around a bit half heartedly, but haven't found a way to do this. Anybody know if it can be done? I've upgraded to 0.13, but don't know if the new key mapping stuff makes this possible.

I haven't looked at it too hard, but I do know that 0.13 allows seperate key mappings for different areas of the program. Just go into mythweb and look at the options.
