Putty(unless I'm mistaken) doesn't allow you to transfer files. If you want to use scp to transfer files from KnoppMyth boxen to Windows then you'll need WinSCP(Google for it...).

Putty comes with some dos command line utils pscp.exe, etc. I've used them, but I throw up every time I have to use a dos prompt. :P

I am glad this can be done (I do not have internet access quite yet to my MythTV), but can you tell us how to do this? Do you need to use a crossover cable from the one computer to the other? I can find my IP address in the xterm area using the ifconfig command, but the only IP address I see is the loopback 127.0.0.1 address. How do I change that configuration so that I can enter in a real IP address into my windows box using WSP or whatever that program is called? Thanks!

Network the systems together via cross over or hub/switch. As root netcardconfig.
