Post subject:  mythtv losing scheduled recordings

I have my mythtv boxen connected to to my satellite receiver so (for now) all my recordings are manually scheduled to record on channel 3. Last night I scheduled three recordings. One to occur this morning, and two for tomorrow early in the AM. The recoring I had scheduled for this AM never happened, and when I check mythweb the recordings scheduled for tomorrow are not listed in the "Scheduled Recordings" section.

If I ssh into the the myth machine and then into mysql I can see all the scheduled recordings in the record table.

Also, you'll notice two entries for the animatrix. That happened because after I entered the first one, it didn't show up in mythweb, so I reentered it think I must have hit the wrong button the first time.

I have also rebooted the myth box and manually scheduled two recordings this morning. The first of those is recording right now. Why would myth lose some of my scheduled recordings? Any idea where to look? +----------+------+--------+-----------+------------+----------+------------+-----------------+---------------------+-----------------------------------------+------------------+---------+------+------------+-------------+-----------+------------+

Don't know what's causing your problem, but I wonder why everything is set for channel 3? I've got mine hooked to DirecTV, but mythtv knows about the channels.

My mythtv box can't change the channels on my satellite box (star choice in Canada) yet, so I program the satellite box to change to the specified channel at a given time and then just set the myth box to record the feed coming in on channel 3.

If I just tell the myth box to record (for example) on channel 546 it'll just record snow.

I guess you have serial cable or an IR blaster or something changing the channels on your Direct TV receiver?

I have discovered why myth loses some recordings. Found in the myth users archive that there is a bug no one has gotten around to fixing.

I see why we're different. I'm using svideo from my DirecTV box, so the channel change doesn't really do anything to the PVR250, just causes the channel change script to run. Probably sets the input to what it was already too. The myth box does control the DirecTV box via serial cable.
Glad you found your problem, hope it gets fixed for you soon. :)
