I'm currently looking into the various different PVR software available and I have a question.
Is Knoppmyth better than GB-PVR or MediaPortal?

As I recall both are Windows based products, and I wasn't very impressed with either product. KnoppMyth was quite easy to install, add a second drive and expand using LVM, and has Samba and NFS setup and ready to go, all that needs done is issue a few commands from the command-line and you're ready to rock to your hearts content.

For my money, I'd go with MythTV and KnoppMyth.

Everyone here is going to say Knoppmyth is best. It would be interesting to ask the same question in the GB-PVR and MediaPortal forums, and i'm sure you would get two different answers.

Having said that, if you are comfortable with doing some stuff at the command line, the flexability you will get with knoppmyth should be the clincher. As cesman (creator of knoppmyth) says, when the source is open, the possibilities are endless.
